菊がメインのモチーフとなった、17世紀半ばの染付のうつわです。
菊花の脇には水の流れや、垣根（柴垣）？も描かれています。
柴垣の描写が特徴的で、のびやかな菊の表現も生命力を感じさせます。
口縁の欠けが金繕いされ、空に明るく輝く月に見立てていただくのも一興でしょう。
柴垣のすぐ上に、焼成時に窯の中でのフリモノがあり、これを蝶に見立てていただくのも面白いかと思われます。
状態：口縁の欠けを金繕い。貫入（一部シミ）。トリアシ。フリモノ。高台にホツ。
